Santa Cecilia Opera Studio 2012 offers a wealth of opportunities for the many young singers who choose to master their art in the true tradition of Italian Belcanto, under the guide of the great interpreter and teacher Renata Scotto. During the two principal sessions, each lasting four weeks of intensive study, students will be able to master every aspect of their skills, together with the teachers Renata Scotto for vocal interpretation, Anna Vandi for vocal technique, Cesare Scarton for acting, movement and Italian diction, and the pianists Fabio Centanni, Stefano Giannini with their assistants for score studying. Each session is concluded with a public concert at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome.
 
Santa Cecilia Opera Studio also organizes supplementary study meetings held by Anna Vandi and Cesare Scarton aimed at specific individual needs, such as the preparation of auditions or competitions, the vocal and stage preparation of roles, etc. The meetings, normally reserved to Santa Cecilia OperaStudio active students, are also open to new students, subject to an audition.

Santa Cecilia Opera Studio training includes a rich programme of artistic activities, aimed at offering the most promising young artists concrete opportunities of professional experience and career start. In particular, after the great success obtained in April 2011 with the staging of Janáček’s The cunning little vixen, the project dedicated to the 20th century musical theatre continues in September 2012 with the staging of a brilliant double-bill, Ravel L’heure espagnole & Puccini, Gianni Schicchi, includinga singing company entirely made of Santa Cecilia Opera Studio singers and the Instrumental Ensemble of the Academy’s master courses. The operas shall be conducted by Carlo Rizzari and directed by Cesare Scarton.

The Santa Cecilia Opera Studio activity is made possible also thanks to the generous contribution of Laurel Schwartz, who has been helping and sustaining the growth of the programme for many years. Santa Cecilia Opera Studio is also grateful for the support of the Fondazione Ettore Paratore and the Fondazione Boris Christoff.

Applications
Applications must be submitted on-line to the Segreteria Didattica, using the registration FORM published on the Academy’s web-site, www.santacecilia.it, on the “Master Courses” page. Notification of receipt shall be forwarded to applicants by e-mail; applicants are requested to produce such notification on the day of the audition.
Applicants are requested to attach the following documents to the on-line application:

  •     artistic curriculum;
  •     photocopy of passport or other identity document;
  •     audition programme;
  •     receipt of payment of the entrance examination fee.
 
Auditors
  • artistic curriculum;

Entrance auditions and attendance fees

Active students
   70,00 € for entrance auditions;
   800,00 € for attendance of each session.

Auditors
