Objectives and course contents

The course shall cover the study of the symphonic and opera repertoires from Barocco to contemporary, focusing on sound, intonation, care and maintenance of the instrument. In-depth study of orchestra excerpts, with particular focus on those that are usually requested in auditions and competitions and, on request, on pieces from the solo repertoire.

Goldenberg, Studio XVIII for xylofone

Milhaud, Concerto for Marimba e Vibraphone and Orchestra, II movement (only vibraphone)

Rimsky-Korsakov, Shéhérazade, all the parts (snare drum, cymbals, tambourine, triangle, bass drum)

Rachmaninoff, Piano Concerto n.2, (cymbals)

Objective and contents of course

The course shall focus on the technique and interpretation of the main orchestra excerpts for percussions, coupling advanced professional training with the development of emotional self-control, in view of an accurate preparation for auditions and competitions.
