Conducted by Giovanni Bietti. These encounters, which take place before concerts, offer enthusiasts a clear, accessible and straightforward path deeper into the artistic and performance aspects of four concerts selected from the 2010-2011 Chamber Season and four from the Symphonic Season. Among the selected topics, which range from music by Mozart to Schubert, Brahms and Debussy, a special nod must go to a study of the extraordinary Beethoven quartets (which a noted critic defined as “the greatest adventure of the spirit ever undertaken by an artist”).
