The Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, in collaboration with RomaCapitale and with the Department of Education and Scholastic Policies, Youth and the Family, has established a didactic path that allows children to learn the art of singing together. Once they have passed a few aptitude tests, they can join one of the five Voci Bianche choruses, according to their age and musical level; young people ages 15-23 can join Cantoria, the group especially for this older age group. The activities of these choruses are varied and stimulating. Children participate in many performances and learn a broad repertoire that ranges from ‘art’ music to folk, opera and musicals. Another very worthwhile feature is the collaboration with the Opera Theater of Rome Foundation. Auditions for the latter normally take place in June.
